WESTTEK Becomes Systems Integrator for Microsoft Windows CE

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- April 6, 1998 - WESTTEK, L.L.C. announced that it has signed an agreement with Microsoft Corp. to become a systems integrator for the Windows CE operating system. WESTTEK has established a leadership role in hard copy imaging products for Handheld PCs powered by Windows CE.
The agreement between Microsoft and WESTTEK comes on the first day of the Microsoft Windows CE Developers Conference. WESTTEK's President, Tim Wells, is scheduled to give the "Writing Printer Drivers for Windows CE" abstract at the conference. Mr. Wells and WESTTEK assisted Microsoft in enhancing the printing features of Windows CE 2.0.
"Our hard copy imaging experience and expertise with Windows CE puts WESTTEK in a unique position to provide our customers with feature-rich embedded Windows CE-based solutions," said Mr. Wells. WESTTEK is developing a range of products, which address the imaging needs of users of H/PCs and embedded products. WESTTEK anticipates the release of its imaging products for H/PCs beginning in the 3rd quarter of 1998.
